How It's Done:
This fantasy creature is designed to bestow good fortune and chase
away evil
spirits. His body is thrown on a potters wheel. The removable head is
hand
sculpted. The intricate patterns are made of individually cut out and
attached clay shapes. Many layers of underglazes are fired on to
achieve the
rich, textured surface.
